Carmex x Skinny Dip Sugar Plum Balm (£3.99)
If you want to channel your inner sugar plum fairy this festive season, what better way to do it than with a sugary sweet fruity balm adorned with a unicorn? This little pot is the result of a collaboration between Skinny Dip (the accessories brand that's made phone cases cool again) and Carmex, which has landed just in time for the party season. The same mild methol and invigorating sensation is there, but this time it's just a bit more fun and fruity. Plus it contains SPF15 so it's perfect if you're spending your holidays on the ski slopes.
Burt's Bees Peppermint Lip Balm (£3.99)
When I die, they'll find a Burt's Bees balm in every pocket and inside every handbag. The problem is real, but at least my lips are super smooth... There's something about the scent of peppermint that feels oh so festive, and this reminds me of minty candy canes and after dinner mints. It contains the same hydrating and soothing beeswax base with a refreshing sensation added for good measure, helping to freshen breath and ensure your lips are kissably smooth all party season long.
EOS Vanilla Mint Lip Balm (£6.50)
I remember when EOS was first launched in to the UK and we all went a bit mad for it; I can remember treasuring these little round balls like they were more precious than gold, applying them until I could get not another slick of balm from them. This 'vanilla mint' version is sweet as candy and wrapped up in a swirly cute pack that makes it totally suitable as a stocking filler or secret santa gift - or just a handbag treat for yourself. I love the shape of the balm, effortlessly coating your lips in a lightweight and calming texture that adds a very subtle sheen.
Carmex Pineapple & Mint (£3.00)
If you're more of a tropical cocktail girl than a minty fresh one, then this could be right up your street. The combination of pineapple and mint gives the traditional Carmex tube a little modern update, leaving lips fruity and delicious. Although this isn't super hydrating, it does lubricate lips and offer SPF15 protection, so it's a fab one for on the go or popping over your drying lipstick throughout the day. Just try not to stand there sniffing it, because you will look odd.
Beauty Kitchen Free From Wonder Balm (£3.99)
Enriched with shea and cocoa butter, this unscented balm from Beauty Kitchen works wonders not just for lips - but on cuticles, cheekbones and dry patches of skin too. The little slidey tin makes it great for popping in your bag or pocket, helping to nourish dry skin when you need it most without any worry about losing the lid. It's one of those multifunctional winter essentials that you can use in so many ways, keeping lips nourished and protected so your chosen colour looks even better for longer.

I find a lot of lip balm, while soothing, don't moisturise my lips, rather they sit on top of my lips as a barrier. Which ones would you recommend that do add moisture and not purely protection?
ReplyDeleteYou're probably better opting for a really stripped back and natural one - Herbfarmacy, Liz Earle, anything that's a balm.
Deletei love the carmex unicorn pot! SO Cute!!

I’m crazy over lip balms too! I have one in m6 bag, car, bedside table, bathroom, and at my desk both at home and work. I had no idea Carmex was making such cute containers and scents! I will have to be on the on the watch for them now.
ReplyDeleteThey've defo upped their game this year - gone is the pretty boring offering, in are the interesting flavours and collabs!
