Quick-To-Use Products That Effortlessly Perk You Up & Provide That Summer Body Glow

During the last few days, it's undeniable that I've been a bit of a sweaty mess. Record temperatures have meant my days have been spent managing makeup run and excessive caking, while my evenings have been spent positioning my body across the fan to ensure maximum cooling potential. Although we know it won't last long (this time next week we'll be moaning about where the summer has gone!) it's the perfect time to look after our bodies; a little pampering can make all the difference when you're feeling a bit bleugh or can't face sitting with your head in a hair dryer. If you're looking for products to help you reclaim your lost glow or simply treat your parched skin to some much needed hydration, then these eight beauties have got you covered.

Dove Nourishing Secrets Coconut Milk Body Lotion (£5.99)
I'm such a big fan of the Dove body lotions, but their newest collection includes some truly tropical additions to make the formula we know and love smell even more incredible. Enriched with coconut and almond milk to nourish and replenish the body, the lightweight lotion glides over skin to soothe away dryness while imparting a subtle scent. If you want to keep cool, then pop the bottle in the fridge and apply cold; trust me, it's like a pina colada for your skin.

Emma Hardie Plump & Glow Hydrating Facial Mist (£36.00)
Facial mists are ten a penny during the summer, but as soon as I spritzed this I know there was something special about it. Not only infused with aloe juice to soothe and hylaronic acid to plump skin while injecting much needed moisture (sweating it all out will leave your skin looking and feeling parched,) but it also includes colour correction ingredients to balance redness and improve shine control. The result is that it leaves skin smooth, fresh and radiant. It may be a bit pricey, but I love the super fine mist that doesn't interfere with makeup, plus the bottle is light enough to pop in your bag wherever you're going.

Caudalie Divine Oil (£18.00)
A true beauty classic, this multi-purpose oil can be used on everything from split ends and cracked cuticles, to dry elbows and dull looking cheekbones. With a blend of grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan oils, together with Caudalie's patented antioxidant, it floods skin with moisture to instantly transform it. I adore the scent and the lightness of the formula, making it a beautifully indulgent start to your day - or way to nourish those bits that have been touched by the harsh sun. It's like holidays in a bottle.

Neal's Yard Bee Lovely All Over Balm (£27.00)
I've been well and truly converted to the power of balms over the last few years, with the great ones being jam-packed with hardworking ingredients that are easily massaged into the skin. Neal's Yard are extending their Bee Lovely range with the launch of this super summery and orange scented balm that's enriched with beeswax, honey, cocoa seed butter and shea butter; with each purchase you're also helping to 'create a home for over 500 bees' due to their commitment to bee habitats across the globe. It's such a beautiful product that will help soothe away dryness, add a subtle sheen to skin, provide a summery scent or simply provide a way of mixing your favourite products together. Suitable for all the family too!

Bobbi Brown Illuminating Moisture Balm (£42.50)
Often overlooked in favour of the makeup, Bobbi Brown's skincare collection actually holds some gems - including this illuminating moisturiser that leaves a subtle glow on the skin. Although there's nothing magical about the base, the addition of reflective pearls help to mimic the radiance of healthy and glowing skin for those days when you don't want to wear much makeup (if any.) Perfect for the holiday season or for weekends when you can't be bothered to much more than chuck your hair up in a bun, Lychee Extract also helps energise and enliven skin's appearance. It's a lazy girl's holy grail.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Coconut Breeze (£33.00)
A firm favourite within the industry and multi-award winner, this pre-shampoo treatment intensely moisturises hair to improve elasticity, manageability and bounce. If your 'do is suffering in the heat or has been parched during those sunbathing sessions, it's a great way to inject goodness back in. This limited edition version features an exotic scent that's been inspired by America's West Coast: notes of bergamot, orange and soft peach mimic coastline freshness, while creamy coconut, jasmine and vanilla intoxicates the senses. I'm loving the packaging as much as the scent, but not as much as the way it makes my hair feel after it's been shoved up in a bun for three days.

Prismologie Rose Quartz Body Balm (£55.00)
The ultimate in luxury, this beautiful creamy balm contains Rose Quartz (the stone of comfort) and Arctic Rose to help increase endorphin levels while encouraging skin wellness and relaxation. When massaged into the skin this really does provide a pampering and indulgent moment, helping to soften skin while providing a very subtle sheen on the surface; the result is a delicious scent and beautiful skin in an instant. With ingredients that include Passion Flower Seed Oil (rich in essential fatty acids to moisturises) and Rosehip Seed Oil (rich in Omega 3 & 6 and vitamin A to support the lipid barrier,) this is the perfect body treat to use in the evenings when you want to look and feel your best. Use on visible skin to give it a little summertime boost, no tan time required.

Bonus Find: Velvotan Self Tan Back Applicator (£4.99)
Simple, yet truly effective. How many times have you applied a touch of fake tan to boost your golden glow, only to find yourself practicing contortionist moves in an attempt to cover your back? This nifty little applicator is genius, as it buffs your cream, lotion, gel or mousse onto those hard to reach areas without a care in the world; clean it like your usual fake tan mitt and snap it back in two for storage. There aren't much better ways to spend a fiver.

What products are you reaching for as we shed the layers and embrace the summer sun?

  4. I keep going to purchase the Philip Kinglsey Elasticizer but I always put it down and walk away. My hair is so dry right now due to it being coloured and the sun/heat, even the most intensive of conditioners as not helping. Do I go for it or not??

    1. It really does help your hair if it's knackered! I would apply it and then pop on a towel (or if you're really daring wrap your head in cling film!) for an hour to let it absorb. Good luck!
