Three New Beauty Brands To Get Excited Over (For Tattoos, Tanning & A Great Nights Sleep)

Right now the beauty industry is incredibly saturated. With so much choice and seemingly a product for every single desire, want or need, it's hard to see the wood for the trees and even harder for new brands to stand out. There are a hundred different homemade soap companies, a thousand different anti-ageing face creams and a million different lipsticks, so you really need to come up with either an innovative angle or a truly beautiful brand to garner the attention you need to be successful. Undoubtedly that's hard, but it's also all the more exciting when I discover a new name I think has the potential to be huge. With all the newness landing on my desk right now, these are the three brands that made me go 'oooooh' and take notice - so I wanted to share them with you too.

ELECTRIC INK
With so many of us now inked up and tattoos as normalised as an ear piercing, I'm surprised that there haven't been more products launched to support this area. Tattoos are obviously created on a canvas made of skin and that skin naturally needs care - but so does the ink. Electric Ink has been created to provide specialist aftercare packed with active ingredients to keep skin nourished and tattoos looking fresh. Ingredients include: Liftonin-Xpert which helps to reduce the signs of redness and inflammation while supporting the intensity of tattoo ink, Inca Inchi oil which helps to improve elasticity and hydration, Coconut Oil to nourish dry skin and Vitamin E to help prevent the signs of sun damage and protect against discolouration. With three products in the range (Vibrancy Body Serum, Protecting Body Moisturiser and Defining Body Oil) that are all incredibly pleasant to use and quick to nourish, this is a brand that has been a long time coming. I personally love the Vibrancy Serum which is almost like a liquid highlighter for your tats!
Available from Superdrug, priced from £10.95

BELLAMIANTA LUXURY TANNING
Tanning brands are ten a penny, but most focus on tackling the slightly offensive smell or developing time of the product as their point of difference; Bellamianta are unique as they've specifically formulated their products to hydrate and nourish the skin while you tan, as well as keeping skin hydrated over the coming days so your colour fades evenly. The tanning process can be incredibly drying and lead to a snake-like surface if you're not too careful, but Bellamianta use natural ingredients that work with the skin rather than against it. Excitingly all the products use a '60 second fast dry system' to ensure you can go about your day with ease, while the colour develops over 2-4 hours so you don't have to sleep in it. (Plus there's no transference to clothes either.) I've given these a quick go and so far I'm impressed - they're not at all drying and leave my skin with a golden glow that's not offensive or unnatural. Sure to be on your local high street soon!

FEATHER & DOWN
My sleep is always the first thing to take a hit whenever I'm busy, stressed, ill or generally living a life that's less than zen, so anything that can offer me a helping hand I'm going to get on board with. Most 'sleep well' brands are a little bit cringe and a touch too granny (even if they work,) but Feather & Down is as pretty outside as it is pretty smelling on the inside. An infusion of Lavender and Chamomile essential oils creates an aroma that's relaxing and soothing, which helps get your mind in the perfect place for a good nights sleep. With everything from a shower cream and body oil, to a pillow spray, bath salts and candle all infused with the same scent, this is a brand that will certainly make your bedtime routine all the more enjoyable. I've tried the products myself and they're beautiful scented and lightweight in texture, plus they're super affordable. This Works, watch out!
Available from Boots, priced from £7.00

  3. I have a few Tattoos & wish Electric Ink was around when I had them done. I really should take better care of them and have bookmarked this page to remind me to pick up some of the Vibrancy Serum.
