#SmoothForSummer: It's All About The Fuzz-Free Skin Confidence

As you're reading this I'm probably sunning myself on a beach lounger and sipping on a delightfully cold cocktail. I've packed up my belongings and temporarily relocated to warmer climates, because by jove the UK seems to think it's still February. There's something incredibly special about being on holiday and knowing you have absolutely no obligations for the next few days, other than deciding what flip flops to wear and what poolside drink to choose. But while you're lazing in the sunshine and rocking that one-piece, the last thing you want to worry about is whether or not you've shaved your legs (or even remembered to pack a razor! Last holiday I spent about €15 on a pack of disposable razors from the local chemist because I'd totally forgotten to bring one, while the time before I sliced open my hand on the blade while unpacking my suitcase. In my opinion, shaving and holidays don't mix.) Over the last couple of months I've been putting the HoMedics Duo Salon IPL hair removal system to the test, with the overall objective to be smooth in time for summer so I don't even have to give fuzz a second thought. Considering right now I'm making you jealous by being on a beach, it's safe to say that the outcome has been a positive one.

Over the years I've tried many IPL hair removal systems, but most have been too faffy or too time consuming for me to really stick with - and the majority have been so uncomfortable I'd put off each session for as long as possible, reducing the overall effectiveness and leaving me with anything but long-lasting results. 1. IT'S SUPER QUICK
Unlike other devices I've tried (which need a huge pause to reset between pulses, which hugely slows down the overall process,) the Duo Salon is incredibly quick: you don't have to wait more than a couple of seconds between each blast, so you can blitz a limb in as little as a few minutes. Rather than having to remember to schedule in an hour long laser session, I can quickly treat my legs before bed while watching the telly. 

2. IT'S PRACTICALLY PAIN FREE
The biggest selling point for me is that this really isn't uncomfortable at all. I'm one of those people that usually winces with every pulse of light, but with the Duo Salon IPL I whizz along without a care in the world. It features unique Active Cooling Technology to ensure the skin is cooled and the experience is comfortable (the heat generated by the light pulses travels down to the hair root rather than lingering on the surface,) meaning there's no warmth or sting that's usually associated with such devices. The only time I can even feel it is when I've been using the device for some time and it needs a rest to cool down once again.
 
3. IT'S INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE 
The combination of Intense Pulse Light and Advanced Fluorescence Technology in a single device means you can tackle the different types of hair found on your body and product an incredibly effective result. With five light settings to deliver gentle and effective treatments for a variety of skin tones and hair colours (although it's still not effective on natural light-blonde, red, grey or white hair or very dark skin tones,) as well as being able unwanted hair all over the body (including legs, arms, bikini area, underarms and face) this is a one stop shop to smoothness - everywhere.

The biggest hurdle for me is usually sticking to something for longer than a couple of weeks, but this device is so quick and easy to use that I can't really make an excuse. Over the last few months the rate of hair growth on my legs has definitely slowed, with my shaving being reduced from a couple times a week to once every fortnight; I have high hopes that will continual use that will be even more infrequent. As I slip into my swimming costume and bare my legs for all to see, I'm genuinely confident about those pins and how fuzz free I'll be for the remainder of my holiday... Smooth legs, sunkissed skin and constant supply of cocktails is all a girl can ask for.
