Palmer's Skincare: The Three Affordable Treats You Need To Know About

I'm a sucker for a fancy pack and super complicated claims as much as the next girl, but most of us don't have the budgets to stretch to endless posts of £80 serums and face creams that often require a second student loan. You no longer have to pay a fortune to get a great product, especially if your skin is in pretty good nick and doesn't require specialist attention. Once of my all time fave body care brands is Palmer's, and not just because everything smells of chocolatey goodness; their formulas are enriched with nourishing ingredients that soothe dry skin, while offering targeted care at super affordable prices. Although my bedside cabinet is full of their body lotions, firming creams and moisturising oils, one area I've not really dabbled into much until recently is their ever-expanding skincare range. As you'd expect from Palmer's the products are super affordable, full of goodness, free from many nasties and an absolute pleasure to use. Here are three of my favourites that I think you need to know about...

1. Palmer's Ultra Gentle Facial Cleansing Oil (£7.99)
Call me a cleansing oil obsessive, but I know the difference a thorough and enjoyable cleanse can make to a regime. This lightweight and effective oil is enriched with a combination of Argan, Apricot, Sweet Almond, Jojoba, Sesame, Rice Bran, Soybean and Grape Seed oils to instantly dissolve away makeup and impurities while keeping the skin super nourished. Although it's not quite as effective as some of my favourites as removing mascara the first time around, with a double cleanse you really can't go wrong - especially as it's less than a tenner. Because there's hardly anything else in here but good-for-you-oils, you could even double this up as a treatment oil or face mask too. No parabens, no silicones, no mineral oils, but totally a winner.

2. Palmer's Perfecting Facial Oil (£9.99)
Facial oils have been big news over the last couple of years, and with good reason. They're saturated with goodness that can help the skin to rebalance and restore - as well as infusing nourishment deeper down beneath the surface. This little bottle includes Argan, Macadamia Nut, Maracuja, Apricot, Sunflower Seed, Coconut, Sweet Almond, Grapeseed and Sesame oils alongside Vitamin E, which soothes and hydrates for a radiant and supple complexion. The added benefits of Resveratrol and Retinol (ingredients usually reseerved for high impact anti-ageing products,) it claims to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and helps banish pigmentation. I really like the texture, and the fact it's got the added boost of my favourite ingredient Retinol (although at a much lesser concentration,) so for £9.99 it's a great product to apply before bed or mix with your usual night cream.

3. Palmer's Purifying Enzyme Mask (£5.99)
If you want to cleanse and refresh congested skin after a hard week, this is a great product to apply and let get to work while you’re sipping on a cold glass of wine. Kaolin clay helps to banish congestion, while papaya fruit acids help to tighten pores and banish dead skin cells; the result is a soft and clear complexion that’s ready for a night on the tiles. You either love or hate the feeling of a clay mask, but I have to say this isn't uncomfortable or drying; it's enjoyable and effective, just don't leave it on for more than ten minutes or you'll be scrubbing it off all evening!

Have you tried any of Palmer's skincare range? What do you think about my three picks?
